Microtest Group, Italian leader in the development of test systems and in the testing of microchips on packages and silicon wafers, has been selected by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) — the Agency for the promotion abroad and internationalization of Italian companies — as one of the six companies to exhibit at the Italian Pavilion at SEMICON Taiwan 2024, a premier international trade fair dedicated to the semiconductor and microelectronics industry. The fair represents a valuable opportunity to showcase the industry’s excellence. In 2022, Italy recorded semiconductor exports exceeding USD 1.1 billion, with a 57% increase over the past five years, positioning the country as the fifth-largest exporter in Europe and fourth in terms of demand.
During the three-day event in Taiwan, scheduled from September 4 to 6, 2024, in Taipei, the Microtest Group will present a new device to the market, the DS6 Pulsar, developed by its UK-based subsidiary ipTEST. This device is specifically designed to test microchips intended, among other applications, for the electric vehicle automotive industry, with a particular focus on stress test applications, for power semiconductor manufacturers, and for testing Wide Band Gap (WBG) devices based on technologies such as silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN). These technologies are becoming increasingly significant in the ecological transition, thanks to their extensive use in next-generation batteries.
